Come November 7th, the future of GBS may be decided by the Bond Issue Referendum. Glenview and Northbrook residents will vote on a referendum that will decide the Glenbrooks’ futures. As of now Glenbrooks’ finances are in the red, meaning the district spends more than it takes in. Consequently, the entire District [...]

Friday, October 6th, 2006

At long last, Glenbrook South students will not be punished for the success of their classmates. Starting this school year, the school board voted to abolish class ranking from appearing on student’s transcripts.
Seniors, in years past, would have to show the college to which they apply the percentage they rank, in terms of their classmates. [...]

Thumbs up, Thumbs down

Friday, October 6th, 2006

Thumbs up to falling gas prices. Now I can spend my extra 20 bucks a week on one bottle of apple juice and two bags of skittles from the cafeteria.

[Shore] It’s not a sport unless you juice it

Friday, October 6th, 2006

Last year in English class, I was involved in a hot dispute about what a true sport was and what it was not. Many interesting theories were developed, one in particular being that it’s not a sport unless you don’t wear pockets. Long after contemplating it, however, I finally came up with a theory that [...]

Powerhouse Hawks end Titans’ flawless season, playoffs still one victory away

Friday, October 6th, 2006

As another Glenbrook South school year approaches the end of the fall sports season, the Titan football season seems to have a sense of déjà vu. Not only do the Titans play the exact same schedule as they did last year, but also they have not skipped a beat from last year’s successful campaign.
